About MXG
MXG is an application written in the language of SAS, developed and distributed by Merrill Consultants.
MXG processes SMF records created by computer operating systems ready for analysis, reporting, and measurement of service objectives, resource utilization, system tuning, accounting cost recovery, measurement and capacity management.
Using WPS to Run MXG
The approach is simple, replace the SAS System with WPS and continue to run MXG as you do now.
On all supported platforms, WPS is able to run MXG and produce the same results without the need for any products from the SAS Institute.
The Migration Process
We provide a migration guide to help z/OS users move MXG from the SAS System to WPS. This guide has a section specifically for MXG users and leads you through setting up MXG+WPS, comparing the results to MXG+SAS, and putting MXG+WPS into production.
