About WPS for Linux

WPS for Linux is supported on x86 and x86_64 hardware platforms. Support is also available for Linux on Mainframe System z.

Linux Standard Base (LSB)

WPS has officially been tested for compatibility with distributions of Linux certified for Linux Standard Base (LSB) version 3.0 and higher. LSB is a certification management system intended to encourage compatibility between different distributions of Linux. Popular distributions known to be LSB compliant include:

  • Asianux
  • Bharat Operating System Solutions (BOSS)
  • Booyo
  • Linpus
  • Mandriva Linux
  • Montavista Linux Carrier Grade Edition
  • Neoshine
  • openSUSE
  • Oracle Enterprise Linux
  • Red Flag Linux Desktop
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • SUSE Linux
  • Ubuntu
  • Xandros Server

Other Linux Distributions

There are many other excellent Linux Distributions that are not officially LSB certified, many of which will run WPS without problem. WPS requires a 2.6 or later kernel. In addition to the LSB distributions listed on the left, you could try:

  • Arch Linux
  • CentOS
  • Debian
  • Fedora
  • Gentoo
  • Knoppix
  • Kubuntu
  • Linux Mint
  • Pardus
  • PCLinuxOS
  • Sabayon Linux
  • SimplyMEPIS
  • Slackware

For further information on specific versions of these distributions and general information about LSB certification please visit www.linuxfoundation.org/collaborate/workgroups/lsb.

World Programming will endeavour to support your use of WPS on any distribution of Linux, however it must be understood that it will not be possible to certify WPS operation on every Linux distribution and we may recommend a different distribution in some cases.
