WPS Version 2.4 Now On General Release

LONDON, UK - 4th October 2009 - World Programming today introduced WPS version 2.4. WPS software provides support for the language of SAS for processing data and this latest version expands support across multiple operating systems and hardware options. New features include additional statistical and graphical functionality, enhanced database connection options and boosted performance in many areas to reduce processing times significantly.

Summary of Main New Features:

Integrated Modular System
WPS 2.4 introduces modular product structure whilst retaining extra-value bundle pricing.

Multi Platform Support
WPS platform support has been expanded to cover Windows (including Windows 7), z/OS, AIX, Solaris, Linux and also Apple Mac OS X.

New Mainframe Option
Mainframe users now have the option to run workloads under Linux on System z utilising IFL technology.

Statistical Analysis Support
WPS 2.4 introduces support for statistical procedures REG and LOGISTIC. This new statistical support marks the start of making WPS meet a wider statistical audience in the future.

Develop Custom Language Items
A new WPS Language SDK module allows you to develop and distribute your own custom language items.

WPS Engine for Oracle
There is now a dedicated WPS Engine for accessing the Oracle database.

Enhanced DataBase Support
All database engines including ODBC, MySQL have been optimised and extended.

Additional Language Support
WPS 2.4 has more than 200 new language items.
